Unfortunately Georgia is not blessed with favorable wind or solar renewable energy opportunities. Nonetheless we have stepped up our efforts to identify renewable energy resources such as biomass or landfill gas opportunities in Georgia. If legislation ultimately mandates that a percentage of generation come from renewables, we will look to satisfy that mandate by acquiring or building assets at the lowest cost.
In the interim, MEAG Power has worked with our Participants to identify and secure green certificates for their customers requesting such resources. At this point all of those resources are generated within Georgia from biomass facitlities.
